Xorakk Devaah

Character Backstory;

Xorakk Devaah, the only child born out of wedlock to Orc Gremtera Devaah, High Priestess of the Xaktera Tribe. A nature-loving tribe situated south of Maraport in the midst of the forest. The Orc tribe refer to there home as the Tera Region of the forest.

Gremtera was set to marry the prince of the Xaktera tribe Xakar, however, she believed that should be able to decide for herself who she would marry. One day as she was off tending to a family of injured Panther she noticed a wounded adventurer wondering aimlessly through the forest clearly lost. Being skilled in the school of healing magic she felt it was her duty to help the injured man. Knowing that the village elders would not agree to help this outsider Gremtera knew her only over choice was to sneak him into her quarters and perform the miracles herself.

A few days past and Gremtera grew attached to the outsider, they had spent so much time together and she finally felt she had found someone she would love. One night after the human was back to full health the two lay together and the unapproved birth was conceived.

Many months past and the forbidden lover has since disappeared, Gremtera no longer able to hide the fact she was pregnant has no choice but to tell Xakar that he is the Father.

After birth, it was abundantly clear that the newborn was not of true Orc origin and Gremtera was called out on her actions. The first half Orc of the Xaktera tribe was born, the outcast that would grow up to be known as Xorakk. Normally the child would be sacrificed and the mother would be banished from the tribe, however, Xakars love for Gremtera was too strong and he convinced the elders to allow Gremtera and young Xorakk to stay.

Many years pass and still many villagers are unhappy with Xorakk’s presence in the village. Many of the older kids bullied Xorakk, with no one to call his friend he turned to a life of nature and dreamt to one day become a powerful druid who could leave this tribe and live happily amongst nature. This is where Xorakk would meet a companion for life, one day after training he ventured out near the spiritual grounds to try and build a bond with Obad-Hai (the God of nature Xorakk had sworn allegiance to). During meditation, he reaches out to Obad-Hai and asks for guidance, during which the other kids stumble upon Xorakk and begin to tease him. One child begins throwing rocks at the back of his head and another shoves him against a large rock. Being that he is only a Half-Orc retaliating was not an option so he tried to run. It was at this point that Xorakks life would change for good, one spiteful child reaches for a dagger that he had stolen from the armoury, waving it around he threatens to kill Xorakk and “Exterminate the outsider”.

Lunging forward he slashes at Xorakk, stepping back to try and avoid the blade he slips and falls, the blade slashes his face, blood runs down his face and onto his clothing. Everything looks red as Xorakk realises the blade has sliced through his eyes, his vision slowly fades out, the world looks dark. In the distance, he can hear a faint scream as his mother rushes towards him. The pain was too much Xorakk blacks out.

Over the coming days, Xorakk fades in and out of consciousness, still unable to see he can hear and feel his Mothers presence. She has not left his side all week. On the 5th day, he loses consciousness. This time is different, rather than the world fading out a bright light appears in front of him, Xorakk sees again for the first time, he awakes in a field surrounded by flowers of all colours, trees encircle the field. Looking around he notices two figures, one small four-legged creature the other floating just above the ground. Xorakk feels a sudden weight lift from his shoulders and everything goes black once more.

Morning comes around, Xorakk awakes, opening his eyes expecting to see nothing but the darkness he sees his own face. Panicked, scared and unsettled he goes to stand up as he hears a thud, looking around he only sees the bottom of the bedpost.

Little did Xorakk know but that vision was one that would change his life for the better, Obad-Hai had connected Xorakk to the soul of the four-legged creature in the field, a dark grey cat. Later he would be named Kasper.

Over the next few years, Xorakk and Kasper would go on many adventures as there bond with each other and Obad-Hai would develop along with the powers of the Druid, something Xorakk had dreamt of happening since he was young. Adjusting to the new sight he had been given was no easy task and would take many years to master but Xorakk was grateful for the chance Obad-Hai had given him, devoting his life to mother nature vowing that he would protect the forest and all of its creatures as long as he lived.
